Organic Standards

These products are formulated for calibration of analytical instruments, validation of methods, and quality control studies. Our organic standards have an expiration period ranging from 3 months to 10 years depending on their formulation and the chemical stability of the compounds.

PCBs and Related Compounds:

Include 209 congeners, EPA Methods, PCB congener calibration mixtures, Aroclors, and PCB metabolites. PCBs were commonly used as coolants and insulation fluids in transformers and capacitators. These wide applications caused global contamination of PCBs in soil, air and waterways due to improper disposal or leakage.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS):

Due to their unique properties to withstand thermal and environmental breakdown, PFAS have been used in a variety of industrial and consumer products such as firefighting foams, cleaners, cosmetics, paints, adhesives, and insecticides. Research is showing that PFAS may have harmful toxicological effects and pose a significant risk to the public.

Pesticide Standards:

Pesticides and herbicides are used worldwide to protect crops and reduce harmful insect populations. However, they often become environmental pollutants and impact human health. AccuStandard offers over 1500 pesticides and pesticide metabolite CRMs as both neats and solutions.

Plastic Additive Standards:

Plastic and polymeric material may contain hazardous chemical added either intentionally as additives or intentionally as pollutants. AccuStandard offers a comprehensive product line of reference standards, including Phthalates and Bisphenol Analogs (BPAs), for the monitoring of these chemicals.

Standards for Cannabis Testing:

Cannabis is legal for medicinal and recreational use in many areas. Our cannabis products include CRMs for general and regional safety requirements for cannabinoids content, pesticides, residual solvents, terpenes and heavy metals.

Flame Retardants:

Brominated Flame Retardants (BFRs) such as polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) have become global environmental contaminants because of their widespread use in numerous household and commercial products. AccuStandard offers a wide array of Flame Retardant CRMs both as neats and solution.

Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs):

PAHs are hydrocarbon compounds with multiple benzene rings. PAHs are typically found in asphalts, fuels, oils, and greases. They are also produced when organic compounds are exposed to high temperatures or pressures. PAHs have been linked to causing serious health problems such as cancer and hormone disruption.

Explosive Standards:

Explosive standards are traditionally used for the remediation of soil and water in locations where explosives have been stored. These standards are also used for calibrating baggage screening detectors, training dogs to identify traces of explosives, and developing methods for new screening options.

Food Analysis Standards:

Food quality testing is critical for public safety. AccuStandard’s analytical reference standards can be used for testing lipids, vitamins, preservatives, and antimicrobial compounds present in food items.

Biocide Standards:

Biocides are used to control, or render harmless bio-organisms. They are used wherever bio-organisms may cause contamination or a health threat. However, many of them are also hazardous and testing for their residue is important. We offer an extensive line of Biocide standards for general testing and compliance with the European Biological Products Directive 98/8/EC (BPD).

Other Organic Standards

include: Halogenated Aromatics, Dioxins, Alcohols, Ketones, Amines, Ethers, Phthalates, Fuels & Hydrocarbons, and Fatty Acid Methyl Ethyl Esters (FAMEs, FAEEs).

Petrochemical Standards

Our Petrochemical CRMs target the analytical needs and requirements for different petroleum tests such as determining sulfur content, other organic/inorganic compounds, and testing for physical properties including Flash Point, Viscosity, Cloud and Pour point, Freezing Point and Distillation. AccuStandard is a member of ASTM D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants as well as ASTM D16 on Aromatic Hydrocarbons. Working with fellow committee members helps us constantly formulate products for both new test methods and to update existing ones.

Biofuel Standards:

ASTM, EN and IP standard test methods have been developed to monitor the properties of chemical impurities and physical properties for the application of testing biofuels and biofuel blends.

Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis (DHA) Standards:

This includes PIANO (Paraffins, Isoparaffins, Aromatics, Naphthenes, Olefins) and PONA mixes in addition to other mixes of Total saturates, Aromatics, Polyaromatics and Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME). These mixes are used for DHA in both conventional and renewable fuels.

Sulfur Standards:

These standards are designed for the analysis of sulfur content in a wide variety of petroleum matrices. Sulfur standards are manufactured from the highest quality raw materials, including well characterized starting materials and matrices with the lowest native sulfur content.

Other Petro Standards:

Among the many other Petroleum standards offered by AccuStandard are over 100 ASTM Methods which include Universal Oil Products (UOP), Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons & Fuels, Wear Metals, and State Specific LUFT/LUST (UST) standards. State Specific standards are designed to meet specific testing regulations for underground storage tanks.

Inorganic Standards

Inorganic Standards include elements from the periodic table and anions commonly found in drinking water, wastewater, and waste oils. Most of our Inorganic products are traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and formulated from ultra high purity starting materials, trace metal grade acids, and 18 megohm de-ionized water. Most Multi Element standards have an expiration period ranging from 13 months to 2 years. Single Element ICP, ICP-MS, and AA standards have an expiration period ranging from 3 years to 5 years. Inorganic Standards come in 100 mL and 500 mL sizes.

ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) Standards:

Single and multi-element standards to meet every application. Concentrations are verified by Wet Chemical and Instrumental Analysis.

AA (Atomic Absorption) Standards:

These products are a cost-effective solution suitable for single element analysis.

Wet Chemical Standards:

Formulated according to ASTM, EPA, or Standard Methods procedures. These reference standards are used for classical wet chemical applications and methods.

ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) Standards:

Single element & multi-element products are designed to meet the needs of this highly specialized instrument. Products in this range can be used for instrument calibration and to optimize your analysis.

Ion Chromatography Standards

Single and multi-component solutions for ion chromatography. Includes Anion, Cation, Organic Acid Salt standards, Ion Chrom Eluents.

Wear Metal Standards:

Standards for wear metal, additive, and contaminant analysis in lubricating oils, gasolines, residual oils, crude oils, turbine fuels, and environmental samples.
